Maverick Cup Hustopeče

With a field of over 60 entries, this year´s running of the Czech Republic Maverick Rescue Cup hill climb event in Hustopeče was shaping up to be a fanastic event. Being run in combination with the Czech trophy cup, the total field was at 101 cars! Perfect conditions, with the weather being a sunny 23°c.

For the event, the #KAPSEvo was running new Michelin slicks, ready to run with the best of the top guns in class and looking for a superior result in the overall standings. Last years event at the same course left the car a little wounded with a small off, however 2019 would be without a hitch.

After the two qualifying events on the saturday had the car had its suspension stiffenedas well as slight adjustments to the brake biasing and a new map created for the active differential. These changes were able to find another couple of seconds up the hill with a distance of 2400m.

The top teams in the upper classes were showing the way, with the fastest times coming in at under a minute. An extremely quick drive from thos in the Norma and formula type vehicles.

For the #KAPS Evo, maintaining the position in class was the goal. This was achieved with a time of 1min 17 seconds. A fantastic effort beating out the second place finisher by over 2 seconds. The overall result amoungst the 101 competitors, the KAPS team had managed a 30th place finish. Amoungst the 60 drivers specifically for the Maveric cup, an 11th place position was achieced. An outstanding result considering the alternative cars above on the time sheet.
